DUBLIN (WiMAX Day). According to a report by siliconrepublic.com, incumbant Irish telco Eircom have begun trials of WiMAX services. The article stated that an Eircom representitive confirmed that “that the company is conducting trials of WiMAX and other technologies to move beyond the limitations of fixed-wireless access, for which Eircom is licensed.”
The trial apparantly includes 180 customers in 45 locations. Following the trials, Eircom will decide about a commercial roll-out.
